Detailed description:

NiCF developed and produced by KOPTECH is a high-performance lightweight fiber material. Our company has independent intellectual property rights in the metallization process, which can coat the surface of carbon fibers with a thickness adjustable, sturdy, and ductile pure nickel metal outer layer. Due to its drape, light weight, low cost, and high adaptability to complex shapes, NiCF felt has a wide range of applications in electromagnetic shielding, heating cables, and other fields.

At the same time, NiCF can be short cut and processed into carbon fiber thin felt through non-woven technology. It has the characteristics of light weight, conductivity, and uniformity. Compared with copper foil, it reduces weight by 50%-75% and solves the problems of electromagnetic interference (EMI) and lightning strikes.

In complex electromagnetic environments, in order to ensure the stable operation of precision electronic and electrical equipment and extend its service life, metal layers such as copper foil and aluminum foil are usually coated on the surface of equipment or devices that require protection. However, metals have shortcomings such as high price, high density, susceptibility to corrosion, and difficulty in handling complex surface coatings.

NiCF maintains its original low density (50%-80% lighter than metal materials), high strength, and toughness advantages, while also having good processability, greatly improving the conductivity of carbon fiber (achieving a resistance of ≤ 1.6 Ω per meter), and bringing excellent electromagnetic shielding performance.

This metallization process improves the interfacial compatibility between carbon fiber and metal matrix, enhances the interfacial bonding strength of metal matrix composites, reduces the coefficient of thermal expansion, and improves the dimensional stability of the product. Nickel plated carbon fiber can be combined with composite material systems through processing techniques such as bundling, weaving, and non-woven to prepare electromagnetic shielding components, which can effectively protect electronic components. It is widely used in commercial and defense fields such as electromagnetic shielding, high energy radiation field (HERF) protection, grounding layers, stealth protection, and lightning protection.
